Children 8-12

Children in this age range may experience concerns including sleep difficulties, bullying, low self-esteem or confidence, grief, adjustment difficulties, anxiety and depression. Children may also present with neurological/neurodevelopmental diagnoses which impact their behaviour and daily functioning. Early intervention may be useful in preventing further issues in later years.

youth 12-25

This age range brings about much change including transitions through schools, transitions from childhood into adolescence, and adolescence into adulthood. New experiences, and discoveries of one’s world, identity, and sense of belonging also emerge along with biological and physiological changes of puberty. It is no surprise, therefore, that this age group may face a range of issues including anxiety, depression, conduct issues, peer pressure, relationship conflicts, alcohol and other drug misuses.

ADULTS

Adults experience a range of issues depending on their life circumstances, physical health conditions, stage of life, and earlier life experiences. Common concerns include grief and loss, bereavement, adjustment difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, parenting styles, relationship breakdowns, and addictive behaviours. It is never too late to access a psychologist or seek supports.

My work is predominantly on a 1:1 basis. This will vary with children and young people (under 16 years old) as parents may be required to support and reinforce their learning. NDIS clients are sometimes supported using a family centred approach and could include parenting upskilling, report writing, advocacy within schools and community settings.

I use a range of modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy. A Positive Behaviour Support approach is utilised when implementing behaviour change.

Psychological Assessments are available upon request.
